Criteria

Our Criteria is of two basic kinds:

Mission or Purpose of the site is to help humanity
Design and useability of the site itself

To make the choice easier on our staff, we have instituted a point system. Sites that do not make at least an 8 out of 10 on the Mission Statement will not be considered for inclusion in our voting.

Our Good News Points System:

Once a score of at least 8 is reached here, the following categories are:
0 - 10	Site Design	Overall Presentation - Pages match like stationery
0 - 10	Navigation	Links work - Ease of finding specific information
0 - 10	Graphics	Aesthetics - Speedy download - Few animated gifs
0 - 10	MultiMedia	Quality - enhance site - no special plugin needed
0 - 10	Neatness	Page length in clicks, logical page layout
0 - 10	Originality	Unusual idea or concept - not run of the mill
0 - 10	Performance	Scripts that work - no browser crashes
0 - 10	Community	Interactivity is taking place
0 - 10	Readability	Print over background - Spelling and Grammar

Our Bad News Points System:

After a score is given, points may be deducted from the total for these reasons:

NO Adult material and/or any sexually explicit or sexual innuendo material allowed! No professional photography or contemporary art sites will be excused from this rule. Medical/health sites are the only possible exception. (-100)
Any site found containing Child Pornography or Child Abuse (and the person submitting the site) WILL immediately be reported to the authorities without exception. (JAIL)
Sites containing 3 or less pages of actual content will NOT be evaluated. (-100)
Sites which are only lists of links will lose 10 points for lack of content. (-10)
Sites which only sell tapes or books without sharing some free content from that material will be deducted 10 points. (-10)
Pop-up's are allowed as long as they are required by free sites (like Geocities). Any more than 1 will be deducted 10 points for each subsequent Pop-up. (-10/ea)
Any site containing UNDER CONSTRUCTION anywhere will be rejected. (-100)
Sites with broken links or their own graphics that don't load or music/sound files that will not play will be deducted 10 points per each. (-10/ea)
Sites with files that require a Plug-In that requires download to work (non-standard) will be deducted 10 points per plugin type. (-10/ea)
We do not discriminate between denominations of Christianity. We also accept submissions of sites that are non-Christian so long as they contribute to mankind and make the internet a safer place for children.
Commercial sites are OK so long as they have some free access to valuable information. This includes nonprofits and educational or government sites. NO items/services for sale/donation only.
NO fake contests designed to generate mailing-lists. (-10)
NO MLMs Multilevel marketing (-100)
At this time, only sites in English and French can be evaluated.
Foul language. Sites containing bad or foul language will not be accepted. Humor is not an excuse to allow foul language. Foul language includes the Carlin 7 deadly word list, sexually explicit, violent, racist, and anti-government content or anything that would be considered illegal. (-100 or JAIL)
Pages with large blank spaces or same color type and background (spamming) will be deducted 20 points.
Non loading graphics for banner links to other sites do not cause points loss. These are usually beyond your control.
Spelling mistakes will contribute to point loss (1 per each spelling error, grammatical mistake).
